Fact is, it’s just another race, Bob – even if it’s for the best three-year-olds in the world. And you know the old saying: you can beat the races, but you can’t beat a race. Too many crazy things can happen in a 20+ field, especially when most of the horses have never run the distance they’re going today. That said, we know what to look for: first, is there any speed horse in here who can dominate the race on the front end? If not, I look for the classiest closer with excellent connections. But there are so many unknowns I wouldn’t even bet the race if it wasn’t the Derby.LOL
