The QuarterHorseSheets explained

As far as I know, my QuarterHorseSheets are the only ones available that have this quantity and quality of important details. I realize they look daunting at first, but when you’ve used them a few times you’ll find them pretty simple and easy to use. Here’s an explanation of what’s in them. Take a look. Then I’ll explain how to use them to pick winners the crowd misses.

DATE: Today’s date
DIST: Race distance
TRK: Today’s track
#: Race number
HORSE: Horse’s name
PP: Post position
PRG: Program number
LPT: Horse’s last post position
FIN: Horse’s last finish position
LAST RACE VAL: Comparative class of the horse’s last race
AVG SPD: Horse’s average speed for all ratable races
LAST RACE: Horse’s speed in its last race
LAST 3AVG SPD: Horse’s average speed in its last 3 races
AVG SPD THIS: Horse’s average speed in races of this exact distance
LAST FIVE FIGS: Horse’s last five speed figures
LAST FIVE DISTANCES: The horse’s last five distances
STR GAIN: Lengths gained or lost in last race
GATE: Avg. position coming out of the gate
FIRST: Avg. position at 1st call
FINAL: Avg. position at the finish
AVGFPS: Adjusted average speed in feet per second
RD: Number of races this distance
RAW: Average speed with no adjustment
MLINE: Morning line odds
AVGCL: Horse’s average class for all ratable races
COMBRT: Proprietary power figure
BEST LAST FOUR: Horse’s best speed figure in its last four races
HL3: Highest speed figure in last three races
JOCKEY: Name of today’s jockey
TRAINER: Name of today’s trainer
COMP FPS: Proprietary speed figure adjusted for length of the horse’s last race
TJ%: Win percent of the trainer and jockey combination this year and last
CLSRAT: Proprietary class rating includes speed, class, finish position, weight, other factors
RATING: Proprietary figure that rates the horse’s performance in it last three races
CLASS: A rating of the horse’s overall class
#R: Number of races overall
LAST: Distance of the horse’s last race
DSLR: Days since the horse’s last race
LAST (TRK): Last track the horse ran at
TOTAL: Proprietary overall power figure
COMB TOTAL: Proprietary power that includes the horse’s last race
TOTAL TOTAL: Total power figure for horse
COMMENTS: Comments last three races

    • Hi, Phil. Thanks for waking me up. I’ve used the sheets for so long it’s automatic with me – what to look at first, what’s most important, etc. I know the sheets can be a little intimidating at first. So give me a day or two, and i’ll put together what I’ve learned about the best way to use the Sheets, what to look for first, and how to find a bet. When it’s ready, I’ll email it to you and put it on the site.

    • Hey, Phil. Sorry to be so long replying. Our house flooded, my wife fell and broke her hip, I had a heart attack and almost died… not to lean on it too much, but I haven’t had time or energy to get into a clear explanation of how to use this information. I will, though, just as soon as I’m up to it. I’ll let you know as soon as it’s ready.
